Eynsham Parish Council has been advised by Oxfordshire County Council of numerous road closures that could impact our residents travel in the local area in May.
North Leigh and Cogges
In May, there will be a section of the A4095 (Witney Road) at North Leigh closed to traffic from 4am-6pm each day from 5-9 May. This is to allow for surface dressing works. A diversion route will be signed, taking drivers via the A34 and A40.
This section of road will be closed again from 25-29 May, from 4am-6pm each day, to allow for surface sealing work.
Simultaneously, a section of the road through Cogges will be closed to allow for surface dressing works from 4am-6pm each day from 5-9 May. It will then be closed again on 25-29 May, 4am-6pm, to allow for surface sealing work. The suggested diversion route will take drivers via South Leigh and Sutton Green.
Both these works are identified on the map below. The closed section is marked in red and the diversion route marked in blue.
Long Hanborough
A section of A4095 near Long Hanborough will be closed from 6-10 May, 4am-6pm each day. This is to facilitate surface dressing works.
The section of the road to be closed is marked on the map below, with the suggested diversion route taking drivers via A40 and A44.
This section of road will then be closed again on 27-31 May, 4am-6pm each day, to facilitate surface sealing works.
A40 Witney Bypass
A section of the A40 (Witney Bypass) will be closed each night from 8pm to 6am on 11-16 May to allow for hydroblasting and road marking work. This closure will impact both west and east bound sides of the A40.
The section of the A40 to be closed is marked on the map below, as is a lengthy diversion route via Witney and Long Hanborough.
South Leigh
A section of Stanton Harcourt Road at South Leigh will be closed from 18-20 May for 24 hours per day. This is to allow for the installation of essential water pressure equipment.
The area to be closed is marked on the map below. Any residents wishing to drive to South Leigh during these days should approach it from either the A40 or B4449 depending on which part of the village is required.
