Hear OCC decision on EV-only parking 20 Aug 2026 A public meeting is being held when a decision on EV-only parking spaces in Eynsham will be made

Residents who feel strongly about the recent proposals to create designated EV-only parking spaces on Mill Street in Eynsham may be interested in attending Oxfordshire County Council’s transport decision meeting.
On Thursday 3 September at 10am, a public meeting will be held during which the County Council’s Cabinet Member for Transport will make decisions on various proposals. Reports will be shared following the consultations; these reports will include details of the objections raised.
One of the proposals is the plan to designate parking spaces on Mill Street in Eynsham to be for EV parking only. This is one of various locations around the county that the County Council intend to designate for EVs as part of efforts to encourage a greater uptake.
The public are welcome to attend this meeting, whic will be held at County Hall on New Road in Oxford. If you wish to do so, you must contact the Committee Officer before 9am on Friday 28 August. Members of the public are also able to address the meeting, either verbally or via written submission. Those wishing to do this must contact [email protected]. A written copy of your statement must be submitted no later than two working days before the meeting (i.e. 9am on Tuesday 1 September).
There is also an opportunity to watch the meeting via a live stream link. This link will be available with the meeting papers, which will be posted on the County Council website by the end of Tuesday 25 August. Find these on: https://mycouncil.oxfordshire.gov.uk/ieListDocuments.aspx?CId=575&MId=8516 or via https://www.oxfordshire.gov.uk/council/about-your-council/meetings-and-decisions (and follow the link for ‘Meetings Calendar’).
Eynsham Parish Council objected to the proposal and made some suggestions for alternative solutions. We are aware that many residents also submitted their comments to the consultation and may be interested in hearing the ultimate decision.
