About Us

Eynsham Parish Council is the 'bottom rung' of local governance, sitting below West Oxfordshire District Council and Oxfordshire County Council.

We are responsible for managing our own budget, which is financed through the precept. The precept is an amount we estimate the Council will need for the coming financial year. It's collected as part of your Council Tax and the money is used to improve facilities and services for local people. Parish councils can also apply for other funding, such as grants and awards.

Eynsham Parish Council has a range of power and duties in relation to our community. These powers have been legislated by the Localism Act of 2011 and we make decisions on our activities in collaboration with residents and community groups. This helps us to best meet the needs of Eynsham.

On this page you will find our financial documents from recent years and the key policy documents that underpin our work.

In September 2025 we voted to support the Civility & Respect Pledge; there is no place for bullying, harassment or intimidation within the Parish Council. View our certificate.
