Workshop on Heat Health 30 Jul 2026 Join a Heat Health and Climate Anxiety workshop for more on community resilience

The on-going heatwave and the extreme temperatures are a stark reminder of our changing climate. We’d encourage residents to join an online workshop to find out more about how we can build community resilience in the face of a changing climate, notably dealing with high temperatures.

On Thursday 6 August from 6pm-8pm, representatives from CAG Oxfordshire (a community action group network) and Oxfordshire County Council (OCC) will explain more about what community resilience looks like and how it can be improved. The agenda will cover:

  • Community Emergency Plans and available support
  • Supporting nature locally focused on adaptation with the Local Nature Recovery Strategy - tools, maps and funding advice
  • How to communicate climate impacts/solutions with communities
  • Mental health impacts, climate anxiety, and resources available from Climate Psychology Alliance
  • Heat Safe Homes programme overview from OCC Public Health
  • Community of Practice Launch with CAG Oxfordshire
