Reducing electrical risks at home 25 Aug 2026 Electrical Safety Fund is now open to applications from community groups

The Electrical Safety Council is offering funding to help vulnerable people ensure their homes are safe from the risk of electrical fires.
The Electrical Safety Fund is intended to support organisations or community groups to deliver a wide range of projects. This may include providing practical solutions, raising awareness on electrical safety, improving education and/or tackling the risks associated with unsafe electrical products or inept installation.
The money is intended to ultimately support those who may be at greater risk of electrical harm, such as people struggling with rising energy costs, living in poor housing or dealing with a disability or limiting medical condition, as well as the elderly.
Applications are welcome from charities, not-for-profit organisations and public bodies. Organisations that are unsure if they are eligible to apply for this fund can contact the team on [email protected] to find out more.
Groups can apply for up to £10,000 to support their work in electrical safety. Applications must be received by 27 September and can be made online, where there is more information about the fund and instructions on how to apply: Grants and Funding | Electrical Safety First
