Network mast replacement in Eynsham 21 Apr 2026 Residents can review plans and share comments

Eynsham Parish Council has been contacted by a developer who wants to replace an old mast with a new mast in Eynsham, improving the 4G network and introducing 5G.

An informal consultation is being undertaken ahead of a planning application being made to West Oxfordshire District Council. As stakeholders, our views are sought. Residents may also be interested in reviewing the plans and sharing views.

The plans are for a new radio base station at Everest Roofing on Witney Road in Eynsham. This is part of VodafoneThree’s network improvement programme. This upgrade would improve the 4G network and introduce 5G. Base stations are necessary for mobile phones and other wireless devices to operate, with 5G providing faster connections.

As part of these plans, the existing pole would be removed and a new mast would be erected close to the same place (the same foundations can’t be re-used). The design would be similar and the new pole would be slightly shorter.

Residents can review the diagrams of the proposed mast and a document that provides background information on telecommunications development via the links below.

Comments can be shared with Callum McKenna, a Town Planner with the developer Galliford Try, by email on callum.mckenna@gallifordtry.co.uk. These should be shared before 30 April, when the consultation closes.

Residents will have another chance to comment on these plans if/when an application is made to the District Council.
