Help us protect Eynsham's green space 31 Jul 2026 Can you share evidence to help us protect our community’s spaces?

Eynsham Parish Council would welcome the support of residents in identifying and protecting some additional green spaces that we have in the village.

We are seeking evidence in any form – this could be anecdotal, photographic, historical references or even biodiversity reports – about the following areas of green and blue spaces in Eynsham:

• the Fruitlands Woods (from when this area was publicly accessible – it’s situated off Fruitlands, to the western edge of Eynsham)
• Litchfields (the land to the east and west of Station Road)
• the old railway line (north of the Eynsham Allotments, the section that lies to the west of Horizon Business Park)

This evidence will help us as we seek to designate these areas as ‘Local Green Spaces’, which can then be better protected from development in the years to come. We are aware that some of these spaces are no longer accessible to the public, but any evidence that residents can provide from when they were may help us amend this.
