Residents will likely be aware that the Botley Road will (finally) re-open to traffic in September after many delays and much disruption.
The re-opening will impact transport and travel in and from Oxford. We’d advise residents to check the details before travelling to avoid any issues.
Bus changes
From 20 September, the S1 and S2 timetables will change, reverting back to the timetables/routes previously operated before the Botley Road was closed.
The S1 will start from the stop on George Street in Oxford and travel down the Botley Road. It will still call in Eynsham, outside the church. The S2 will start at Oxford Railway Station and travel down Woodstock Road, no longer stopping in Eynsham. However, it will call on the A40 close to the Evenlode, which may be close enough for some residents to access.
Traffic filters
Oxfordshire County Council will start the traffic filter pilot from 28 September, subject to the re-opening of the Botley Road on 20 September.
The traffic filter scheme will replace the temporary congestion charge as a method for reducing the amount of traffic within the city. The six traffic filters will be in the same locations as with the congestion charge. Cars will need to have a permit to travel through the filter or will be fined.
