Eynsham Nursery & Plant Centre 8 Jun 2016 Four significant, separate developments have been proposed to the west of Eynsham recently

Four significant, separate developments have been proposed for land to the west of Eynsham recently. An appeal hearing for Eynsham Nursery & Plant Centre is to begin on 21 June.

Consultants Barton Willmore and developers Vanderbilt Homes held a public exhibition at the Village Hall on 25 January 2015, to discuss an area extending behind Elm Place (see outline map below). Their presentation to the Parish Council Planning Committee on 3 February is reported here.

Proposals for a development of 77 dwellings, with access from Old Witney Road, went on view on 5 March 2015. The Parish Council’s formal objections were submitted on 22 April and are available to download below.

West Oxfordshire District Council refused the application on 22 July, citing among other things “piecemeal development of an isolated plot of land with a key access point onto the A40”.
