Residents walking in the vicinity of the Sports Pavilion will spot some tree activity taking place in October. Eynsham Parish Council would like to explain what's happening and why it's proved necessary.
We have arranged for a contractor to remove two trees from behind the Sports Pavilion. We don’t like to remove trees but, unfortunately, this pair are causing damage to the Pavilion building and the drainage system. The removal of these trees is necessary to maintain the integrity of the building.
To compensate for the removal of these trees, we have committed to planting at least two new trees within the vicinity of the Sports Pavilion. The location and species of the new trees has yet to be decided.
Hopefully residents will understand and appreciate that we must prioritise the safety of our buildings – and the many local people using them on a weekly basis – over the trees, in this instance.
