Grants for endangered crafts 11 Jul 2025 Apply for a small grant to support your craftsmanship and support our national heritage

Residents who practice an endangered craft may be able to apply for some money to help preserve their skills and knowledge for the future.

The not-for-profit Heritage Crafts (His Majesty King Charles is a patron) has opened another round of funding and is welcoming applications for its Endangered Craft Fund.

The £30,000 Fund is intended to support UK-based makers specialising in endangered crafts to help the nation preserve our craft heritage.

Grants of up to £2,000 can be applied for and could be used for costs such as promotional activities, training, tools, materials or equipment. Only those who practice one of the crafts on the endangered list (more details here: Endangered Crafts Fund - Heritage Crafts |) are eligible for a grant.

While a portion of the fund is reserved for those in Essex, East Sussex, West Sussex, and Brighton and Hove, applications are welcome from craftspeople country-wide. Individuals, small businesses, community groups and charities are all eligible to apply.

The deadline for applications is 5pm on 17 October and information on eligibility and how to apply are available on the website: Endangered Crafts Fund - Heritage Crafts |

Those who are successful in the grant application process will also receive support from the Grants and Awards Officer and other members of the Heritage Crafts team.
