Get ready to Light Up Eynsham! 29 Nov 2023 The Christmas lights are ready for Friday

Our Parish Councillors and assorted volunteers have been out in Eynsham to put up the Christmas lights ready for the big switch-on event on Friday.

Each year the Parish Council is responsible for the lights that brighten Market Square and the Christmas tree during the festive season. We’ve now got them in position for 2023 as the village prepares for the popular Christmas event on Friday 1 December: Light Up Eynsham.

The event is organised by Eynsham Community Primary School PTA and will start at 5.30pm in Market Square. In addition to the Christmas lights being turned on (approx. 6.10pm), the evening will feature carols and festive songs, suitably-seasonal refreshments and a visit from the big red man himself. All proceeds will support the work of the PTA and help our local school children, so please come out and enjoy it all!

Light Up Eynsham is, alongside Eynsham Carnival, one of residents’ most cherished events and the weather looks cold but dry for this years’ revellry. We look forward to seeing many of you there for the evening and we hope the community will enjoy the light display, cheering us all through the winter days ahead.
