Eynsham Parish Council would like to update the community on some exciting, upcoming improvements that we will be making to the well-used play areas in the village.
The Old Witney Road play area will be closed from Tuesday 5 September for six weeks (weather-permitting) to allow for a much-anticipated upgrade, including new play equipment being installed and some older pieces removed for safety reasons.
Decisions over the new equipment were guided by the biggest users – young people – who told us what they thought at various engagement activities over previous months. We greatly appreciate your advice and hope you are all excited about getting to try out the new-look play area in October.
The Council is planning to hold a re-opening event at Old Witney Road play area during October, to which all the community is invited. We will confirm the time and date closer to the event on this website.
Following the Old Witney Road play area activity, Dovehouse Close play area will close from Monday 23 October for one week (through until Sunday 29 October) to allow for critical repairs to carried out. We know this is a popular play area and are keen to ensure the area and its equipment are safe for all to use for the foreseeable future.
We will share any news or updates on these two projects via the website and on social media.
