West Oxfordshire District Council has re-launched their Community Activity Grants scheme. This seeks to provide financial support for community groups that are helping local people cope with cost of living pressures.
This is the second stage of the scheme and there are two categories for community groups to be considered within. The first will provide grants of up to £2,500 to organisations tackling food insecurity and related issues (for example, food banks or community fridges). The second category provides grants of up to £1,000 to those who are addressing issues associated with cost of living pressures, such as running advice services or providing ‘warm spaces’ for residents during the winter.
Community groups and projects can apply from 12 June, with the deadline for applications on 3 July. All applications will be judged on specific criteria around factors such as how many people will be supported, whether a vulnerable group is being helped and the potential for long-term improvements. The activity must also be taking place in West Oxfordshire.
The Parish Council is aware that many local organisations and groups already do great work to support our community and residents and hope that this grant scheme may be able to provide some additional financial support for your activities.
More details on the scheme, the eligibility criteria and the application process can be found on the District Council’s webpage.
There will also be a drop-in online session (via MS Team) to help anyone thinking of applying. The session will involve talking through the application form and discussing some of the requirements of the scheme. This session is on Friday 23 June at 10.30am and can be accessed via the link below. There is no need to register or book in advance.
