The Eynsham Country Market – which is held each Thursday in Market Square – was recently a runner up in a national awards scheme for rural community businesses.
Each year, national charity the Plunkett Foundation hosts the Rural Community Business Awards to recognise and celebrate outstanding examples of community-owned businesses.
Eynsham Country Market was nominated this year in the Rural Vision ‘Inclusivity’ category, alongside Islip Village Shop (the ultimate winner) and Woodhouse Farm and Garden CIC.
While not winning the top prize, being a runner up in a national award scheme such as this is a great achievement for our local market. It acknowledges the hard work of those involved, as well as the value the weekly market provides to our community. We applaud the team’s success.
As we near Christmas, the market will be offering seasonal goodies and festive treats each Thursday morning (9am-10.30am). There will also be a special Christmas Saturday Market on the morning of 3 December. Anyone with specific requests for both sweet and savoury foods can order in advance, to be collected on market day. All information is available on the Facebook page or at the market itself.
