Eynsham Parish Council News

New leadership at the Parish Council 25 May 2022 Councillors have appointed a new Chair and Vice Chair following the resignation of former Cllr Nick Relph.

On 24 May we held our Annual Parish Council meeting, during which one of the key agenda items was to elect a new Chair and Vice Chair to lead the council following the resignation of our former Chair, Nick Relph.

We are thrilled to announce that Cllr Ross Macken, our former Vice Chair, has been elected as our new Chair, while Cllr David Knight has been elected as our new Vice Chair.

Ross has been with the Parish Council since 2015, when his own interactions with the council as a resident persuaded him to get involved as a councillor. He juggles council duties with consultancy work and tinkering with his collection of fast and unusual cars. You can read more about what he’s enjoyed most about his time on the council so far in his Q&A.

David is one of our newer councillors, having joined in December 2020 when global political events ignited his desire to help his own community and “make a small but important commitment to local democracy”. Like Ross, he is passionate about the environment and proactive on climate change issues. His current occupation reflects his enthusiasm – read more about that in his Q&A.

The Council would like to congratulate Ross and David on their new positions. We look forward to the positive impact their enthusiastic and committed leadership will have on our community.

Would you like to join David and Ross on the Parish Council? We have vacancies for new councillors and encourage anyone considering it to get in touch. Contact our clerk on epc.clerk@eynsham-pc.gov.uk to express an interest.
