During Eynsham’s Big Green Weekend in June, our local Nature Recovery Network, in association with GreenTea, will be showing a powerful new climate change documentary at the Village Hall.
The People’s Emergency Briefing, a 50-minute documentary featuring nine leading UK scientists and experts including Chris Packham and Deborah Meaden, explores the challenges presented by climate change and the potential solutions.
This documentary is based on the National Emergency Briefing in Westminster and has been featured by featured by ITV, Channel 4, and The Times. It will be shown at Eynsham Village Hall on Sunday 14 June from 7pm.
Deborah Fleming, a member of our Nature Recovery Network, noted that this “unique” documentary is designed to invite people “to engage with (rather than avoid) the difficult evidence of biodiversity loss and nature breakdown on the web of life which sustains us all.”
The documentary screening will be followed by a public discussion about the issues raised. The whole evening is intended to “make space to reflect on the implications for our community and to begin the conversation on how – through mutual support, collaborative action, and shared skills – we can build a local foundation for a liveable, resilient future for all,” said Deborah.
Advance booking is recommended as seating is limited. A donation must be made to purchase a ticket. Light refreshments will be served from 6.45 pm. The film will start at 7pm and the whole session is expected to finish by 8.30pm.
