Saturday bus service
First and Last Mile will be starting two new Saturday services, 611 and 618, from 2 May. These routes will connect Eynsham with Witney and other villages in the area. The timetable is designed to provide young people with more options for travelling and accessing activities on their weekend, such as Jessie’s Art Shed.

New number, same service
Regular bus users may have noticed that the S2 has now become X52 and is operated by Oxford Bus Company. The change came in at the end of March and connects Oxford and Cheltenham, via Witney. This is a great value option for travelling around the county. A recent passenger survey found that 49% of people valued the flexibility the most, while for 56% it was the good value they liked best. [Oxfordshire County Council]
Back to buses
Looking at data of Oxfordshire bus passenger trips over the last 15 years, numbers peaked in 2014 at 43.2 million trips per year, before tumbling to 11.7 million in 2021 (no prizes for guessing why). In 2025, the figure had climbed back up to 39 million. [Oxfordshire County Council]. What will this year hold?
