Eynsham Parish Council has been advised by Oxfordshire County Council of some local road closures that could cause travel disruption at the end of April and into early May.
From 24 April there will be a number of days on which a section of the B4044 (between Eynsham and Farmoor) will be temporarily closed to allow for surface dressing works. The closure will be in place each day from 4am to 6pm each day.
A map below indicates the section of the road that will be closed and the suggested diversion (via the A34 and A40). We have been advised that bus routes will not be altered, so this closure will not delay key bus services, including the school service.
This closure will need to happen three times to allow for a complete process. The expected dates are 24 and 28 April, then 12 May, but these dates are subject to change as the contractors must react to weather and road conditions. Signs will be in place to remind drivers of closures.
Ducklington
From 29 April until 3 May, a section of Standlake Road will be closed from 4am until 6pm each day. This closure is to allow for surface dressing works to be completed.
The section of the road (A415) to be closed is between Ducklington and Hardwick, with a diversion route taking drivers via the A40 and B4449.
Please see the map below to identify the closure (red) and diversion (blue).
This same section will be closed again from 13-17 May, 4am to 6pm each day, to allow for surface sealing work.
