Open Art Competition 2026 3 Feb 2026 See your art on the walls of Oxfordshire Museum!

Artistic Eynsham residents might be interested in entering Oxfordshire Museum’s Open Art Competition 2026. As a nod to the museum’s 60th anniversary this year, the theme for the competition is ‘celebration’.

Any Oxfordshire resident aged 11 and older can enter up to three pieces of art, with all forms of media welcome, including painting, textiles, mixed media, photography and digital. The entries should respond to the theme, representing whatever ‘celebration’ means to the artist.

Submissions are being accepted until 9am on 10 August. The winners will be selected by a panel of guest judges and announced at a special preview event ahead of the public opening of the exhibition.

A shortlist of the entries will be selected for display at Oxfordshire Museum in an exhibition running from 19 September to 11 October.  Awards will be given to one overall winner as well as the best amateur entry, the best submission from an under 18 year-old, and the people’s choice (voted for by the public).

The competition is free to enter and the details can be found on the Oxfordshire County Council website: Open Art Competition 2026 | Oxfordshire County Council Good luck!
