Botley Road re-opening delayed
It has been announced by Network Rail that the Botley Road will not be re-opening at the end of August as scheduled.
During the excavation works, three minor gas leaks were discovered. Additional time was needed to allow the gas network (SGN) to replace the pipes rather than simply repairing, hopefully avoiding disruption in the future.
No date has yet been given for the re-opening of the Botley Road; we will update residents when we hear more. This delay will impact Oxfordshire County Council’s plan to introduce traffic filters and cease the congestion charge scheme, which has always been scheduled to take place only once the Botley Road was open.

From 26 July, passengers using any of the Pulhams bus services can use their debit card or smartphone (Apple Pay/Google Pay) to ‘tap on and tap off’ paying for their fare without the need for a paper ticket. Bus fare cap to return
Prime Minister Andy Burnham has announced there will be a return of the £2 single bus fare cap in England from 1 January 2027. It is anticipated that the service providers in Oxfordshire will all take up the scheme and the
County Council is planning to review the pricing structure for next year to hopefully be able to reduce the price of other bus fares in Oxfordshire.
