Eynsham fire station closure? 5 Nov 2025 County Council consults on changes to Fire and Rescue Service

Oxfordshire County Council is currently consulting on proposed changes to the Fire and Rescue Services. As one of the changes could be closing Eynsham’s fire station, we encourage residents to review the documents and submit their feedback.

These changes are being proposed by the County Council as a means of improving the availability of fire engines and crews across the county. Currently, there is inconsistency and a risk of delays in crews and vehicles attending an incident.

A 12-week public consultation is now open, with feedback on the proposed changes accepted until 20 January. A designated webpage has all the details about the consultation, the various documents to review and a link for sharing feedback. For printed copies or a more accessible format, please email fire.consultation@oxfordshire.gov.uk or call the customer services team on 01865 792422.

Eynsham Parish Council will be reviewing the consultation documents and discussing our response at an upcoming meeting. Residents are always welcome to attend our meetings to hear our discussions.

The County Council is also holding a number of online meetings to speak with the communities likely to be most impacted by the changes. The session for Eynsham is scheduled for Friday 28 November from 1pm until 2.30pm. This will be an opportunity to ask questions of the team and we encourage residents to join the meeting if they are able. Book your place via the webpage.
