Become Eynsham's Flood Warden 5 Dec 2025 The County Council is seeking local Community Flood Wardens

Oxfordshire County Council is currently looking to appoint volunteer Community Flood Wardens across the county to help identify risks and improve resilience.

The County Council recently completed a successful pilot scheme, creating the Witney Flood Group (Flood Wardens - Witney Flood Group) and training a number of wardens to keep an eye on the local area. The scheme is being expanded and new Community Flood Wardens are now required to help keep their local area safe.

The Flood Warden is a voluntary position, with no minimum amount of hours required and full training provided. Community Flood Wardens are the ‘eyes and ears on the ground’, monitoring anything that could present a flood risk, such as blocked drains and ditches, or obstructed watercourses.

Considering Eynsham’s proximity to the river, a local Community Flood Warden would offer a valuable service to the village by alerting the County Council to any potential risks.

To find out more details or register your interest, please contact the Volunteer Coordination Team via volunteercoordinationteam@oxfordshire.gov.uk or by calling 07796 938892 (Nigel) or 07542 965010 (Lorraine).

If you become our Community Flood Warden, let us know via email on epc.comms@eynsham-pc.gov.uk.
