Despite the chilly temperatures on a sunny Saturday in October, many local families joined Parish Council staff and Councillors for the grand re-opening of Old Witney Road play area. Thank you to everyone who came along!
The play area had been closed for a period of renovation, with some of the older equipment removed and newer, more modern equipment added. While this was a Council project, we were thrilled to be able to speak to some local children over the past few months to hear their thoughts on the equipment before we ordered it. We sincerely hope all are happy as we are with the new equipment now it is place and ready to play on.
During our re-opening event, which ran for two hours on 14 October, we had invited an ice cream van and funded free ice creams for all the children in attendance. We were impressed by how many were undeterred by the autumnal chill to enjoy the icy treat!
We greatly appreciate the patience of local families during the period of closure for the Old Witney Road play area renovations. Now one play area task is complete, the Parish Council is turning attention to another project and we will call upon your patience once again.
Dovehouse Close play area will be closed from Monday 23 October for a week to allow critical safety repairs to be carried out. We recognise that this will be an inconvenience for local families, but we hope you can appreciate the importance of us ensuring the play area and the equipment within it are completely safe for use.
