Help to create a wildlife corridor 24 Jan 2024 Nature Recovery Network planting event on 27 January

Eynsham’s local Nature Recovery Network is inviting residents to join them on Saturday 27 January to plant hedges, helping to create a wildlife corridor in Eynsham Playing Fields.

From 10am until 1pm, the group and local volunteers will plant a number of hedges in the Neyotts meadow, running from the Playing Fields down to Eynsham Lock. This wildlife corridor will make this popular walking spot look attractive but also help to improve our local environment and boost biodiversity.

Everyone is welcome to join the Nature Recovery Network for the morning. Attendees are asked to bring spades and secateurs if they have them, as well as any cardboard that can be used for mulching. If residents have been propagating local native trees in the garden, they are welcome to bring these along and add them to the hedgerow.

Residents keen to get out in the fresh air this weekend after the storms could combine hedge planting on Saturday with a session on Sunday helping the Parish Council tend to the Abbey Fishponds.
