Dovehouse Close 'Come & Play' did not re-open following the relaxation of Coronavirus Government guidelines in August and an annual RoSPA Inspection. Unfortunately, the play area was considered 'dangerous' by the Inspector as it requires substantial work to replace a number of rotten, wooden beams amongst other more routine tasks such as topping up play bark and changing swing links.
Update - At its meeting on 17 November 2020, the Council accepted a quote of just under £7500 to undertake all of the repair work and will be working with contractors to re-open the play area as quickly as possible. This news item will be updated again when a planned start date for the work is known.
In the meantime, the Council repeats its message that children do not enter the play area for their own safety.
