Eynsham Parish Council has been advised that a section of the A40 layby will be closed to allow for urgent works to be carried out from the end of May.
The section of the layby – from Barnard Gate to the Eynsham roundabout – will be closed from 29 May until 2 June (inclusive) for 24 hours each day. This is to allow transformer poles to be removed and for a trench to be dug in the verge.
A map, downloadable below, shows the section of the layby that will be closed, although emergency vehicle access will remain available.
We'd advise drivers to take care when using the A40 during this time.
In addition to the layby closure, temporary traffic lights will be in place on the A40, near to Eynsham, to facilitate Park & Ride construction works during the month. These lights will be in operation from 9pm on Friday 19 May until 6am on Monday 22 May.
