The new electric vehicle charging points will be installed in Eynsham towards the end of December, West Oxfordshire District Council has now confirmed.
Eynsham is one of five areas in the district to receive the new e-vehicle infrastructure in the local car park. Charging points and designated spaces will be set up in Back Lane car park, with installation work to commence by the end of December, according to current schedules.
While the installation of charging points will slightly reduce the number of parking spaces available in the car park, it will provide an option for those who want to buy an electric car but lack the driveway parking needed for charging.
As the nation moves towards relying more on electric vehicles, we hope more of the community will benefit from having access to charge points within our community.
This ‘Park and Charge’ project, run by the District Council, will see Witney, Chipping Norton, Carterton and Woodstock gaining electric vehicle charging points in their car parks too. This creates a useful network of places to charge in our local area.
We have been advised that the village will get clear and ample warning of the installation work to keep disruption to a minimum. If we hear any further news from the District Council regarding the installation we will keep you informed via the website.
