Improve Eynsham for walkers & cyclers 13 May 2025 Help the County Council improve local provision

Oxfordshire County Council is trying to find ways to improve the quality and safety of walking and cycling provisions in Eynsham. They’d like to hear from residents on what improvements could be made.

This public engagement period is part of the development process for a new Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan (LCWIP) being developed for Eynsham. The intention is to improve walking and cycling provision in our village and the connections to the surrounding areas to make it a safer and more appealing means of travel.

The County Council develops multiple LCWIPs for different areas, helping to identify where improvements can be made before seeking funding to make the changes residents want. More information about how they shape LCWIPs is available on the website: Active travel | Oxfordshire County Council

We’d encourage those who would like to walk and cycle more in the area to visit the Let’s Talk Oxfordshire webpage (Improving walking and cycling in the Eynsham area | Let's Talk Oxfordshire) to take part. The team would like residents to share their views on the existing provision and drop a pin onto an interactive map to identify where there is potential for improving the infrastructure.

The public engagement exercise is running from 13 May until 24 June. After this date, the team will use the feedback to shape a LCWIP for Eynsham, which will subsequently be shared for public consultation before being finalised.

The Parish Council, alongside other stakeholders, will also be sharing views with the County Council to help shape the LCWIP. We will keep residents informed of progress of this work via our website.
