Oxfordshire County Council is now accepting applications from parents whose children will be starting primary school in September 2025.
For those with children born between 1 September 2020 and 31 August 2021 – who will start primary school next year – it’s time to apply for your preferred schools. Applications should be made online (Reception applications | Oxfordshire County Council) by 15 January 2025.
Parents are encouraged to consider how their child will travel to school when making their decisions. The County Council has also advised parents to list four preferred schools to ensure their child is not placed at a school that isn’t on their list. Listing four will not make it less likely that the child is placed at the preferred school.
It’s important to apply for school places by the January deadline as any late applications won’t be processed until later in 2025, making it less likely that a child is placed at their preferred school.
Once the application has been lodged, parents can expect to be contacted with the result of their application on 16 April.
