Funding community resilience/net zero 22 Jul 2024 Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks has grants available

Eynsham Parish Council has been informed by Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) of a new fund that provides grants to help communities remain resilient and adopt low-carbon technologies.

The Powering Communities to Net Zero (PCNZ) fund is now open to applicants, with £3m worth of grants available. The deadline for applications is 5pm on 31 August, with successful applicants announced in October.

There are two different grants to apply for. The first is for up to £15,000 to support a community’s efforts to boost physical and environmental resilience, such as coping in power outages due to extreme weather. The second provides up to £20,000 to non-profit organisations to purchase and install low-carbon technology, such as EV chargers or solar panels.

SSEN has set specific criteria for each type of grant, which can be reviewed via their webpage: Powering Communities to Net Zero fund - SSEN This website also explains more about the fund, provides important information for applicants as well as the application forms.
