Salt Cross Garden Village update 17 Mar 2023 The Inspector’s report on AAP published

West Oxfordshire District Council (WODC) has now received and published the Inspector’s report on the Salt Cross Garden Village Area Action Plan (AAP).

This comes following WODC’s consultation into the modified AAP, which ran from September to November at the end of last year. Eynsham Parish Council formally commented in the consultation and shared a press release, in collaboration with GreenTEA and EPIC. We also wrote to our local MP, Robert Courts.

The Inspector’s report was received by WODC on 1 March and is available to view and download on the Salt Cross Garden Village page of the website. Printed copies of the report are available in various locations, including Eynsham Library on Mill Street.

The Parish Council is disappointed to see that some of the ambitious, robust responses to key policies have been softened, noticeably around how the plans relate to policies around Net Zero targets.

WODC will now review the report recommendations from the Inspector and formally consider adoption of the revised AAP. We will keep residents informed when we know more about the next steps which include WODC considering whether to accept the Inspector’s modifications in the AAP.

Additionally, the Planning Inspectorate is inviting feedback from anyone who was involved with the examination. Residents may have been involved by making comments in writing and/or attending one of the hearing sessions.
