As previously reported, Eynsham Parish Council has long been discussing a reduction in speed limits in and around Eynsham in order to secure the safety of all road users for the foreseeable future. Eynsham residents enjoy their streets and nearby open spaces, and we’d like to encourage this usage to continue and grow.
We have submitted our plans to Oxfordshire County Council and the project is now open to consultation ahead of any decision over whether it can proceed. The consultation will run until Friday 1 April and all interested parties are welcome to respond.
The proposals we have submitted include reducing the speed limit on all roads within the village to 20mph, as well as reducing speed limits on the neighbouring roads, such as B4044 and B4449. The full details and rationale for the changes are outlined in our previous article on the topic.
To take part in the consultation, please visit the designated page on the County Council website. This page contains links to the official documentation and a survey to share your thoughts on the changes. We would encourage everyone working or living in the vicinity to complete this survey as the views of our community are critical to any decision that may impact their life in Eynsham.
The Parish Council believe this scheme will make a positive impact on the safety and livability of our local area but highly values all contributions to the consultation.
