Eynsham Parish Council was thrilled when local firm 3D Aluminium offered to donate new windows and a pair of security doors to support the upgrading work at the Village Hall.
The Parish Council approached 3D Aluminium for a quote to replace windows at the front of the building and a security door. The Eynsham-based firm had installed the windows when the Village Hall was built in 2001 and, as part of our commitment to supporting local businesses, the Parish Council approached them again to seek a quote for the work.
Unexpectedly, the window installation firm offered to provide the windows and doors free of charge as a way of supporting the community and a much-used local venue. As Simon Keegan, Commercial Director at 3D Aluminium, explains:
“We wanted to make this donation to the Parish Council because, as a local business, we believe in giving back to the community that supports us. Carrying out this work at the local Village Hall was our way of saying thank you and helping maintain a space that brings people together.”
The firm was established in 1973 and is based in Eynsham, with around 70% of staff living within 15 miles of the village. Not only does the firm have a long, strong connection to the local area, it is also known for its commitment to supporting good causes.
Councillor Ross Macken, Parish Council Chair, said “we are delighted to have 3D Aluminium’s support on the recent door and window upgrades at the Village Hall. Replacing the fire door has helped us address a security issue while the new windows greatly improve ventilation in the office, which has been very welcome in the summer heat. Thank you very much, 3D!”
3D Aluminium were also able to adapt the existing main entrance doors to allow for automatic opening via pushpads, improving the accessibility of the building. The total value of their donation was almost £7,000.
Eynsham Parish Council Deputy Clerk Richard Wilkins has been overseeing the project to upgrade the Village Hall facilities. He says:
“The project to upgrade the Village Hall is a long and very expensive one, stretching our limited budget. We hadn’t expected 3D Aluminium’s incredible donation but are so grateful for it. The Village Hall is a well-used venue and it’s important for us to maintain and improve it to ensure it continues to serve the community.”
