Footpath diversion is getting closer 22 Jul 2025 There's still time to raise any objections with the County Council

Residents may recall we recently held a consultation into the plans to divert a section of a footpath in Eynsham for safety reasons, as the riverbank is unstable and at risk of collapse.

You can read our original news article from June 2025 [Footpath diversion for walker safety - Eynsham Parish Council News. Oxfordshire (20 Jun 2025)]. The consultation closed in July and, after reviewing the responses, we informed Oxfordshire County Council to divert the footpath as planned.

The County Council has now published a Notice of Order, which can be viewed at the bottom of this page. The Order sets out what is planned and where, including a QR code to access a map indicating the footpath section to be diverted. The document is available here, can be viewed in hard copy by visiting Eynsham Library or online at https://letstalk.oxfordshire.gov.uk/eynsham-03846.

Any representations about or objections to the Order must be made by 22 August. Please direct these to Countryside Access Legal by post (c/o Oxfordshire County Council, County Hall, New Road, Oxford OX1 1ND) or email to countrysideaccesslegal@oxfordshire.gov.uk.

If there are no objections raised, the Order will be confirmed and the path route will be altered. We will keep residents informed about next steps in due course.
