Prepare for some disruption 4 Apr 2025 Gigaclear contractors will soon start work in Eynsham

Eynsham residents may have received a letter about Project Gigabit, which will soon be causing minor disruption in our area as part of efforts to improve rural connectivity. This letter is available to download at the bottom of the page.

Project Gigabit is a Government-funded roll-out of broadband intended to ensure rural areas have access to the full-fibre, high-speed connections available in cities and larger communities.

Gigaclear is handling the task in our area, with support from Oxfordshire County Council. They have recently sent out some information to residents likely to be impacted – and to Eynsham Parish Council – about their upcoming works in Eynsham.

The work is planned to start in the coming weeks. While contractors will be able to make use of some existing structures to install the new broadband, they will also have to dig up some roads, verges, pavements and some private land.

We’ve been advised that residents living on the roads that will be disrupted will receive a letter of warning from the contractors five days in advance of the work starting. Residents are also invited to register for email updates by visiting the website www.gigaclear.com/locations and entering their postcode.

Any concerns or questions should be directed to the Gigaclear team via networkbuildqueries@gigaclear.com or 01865 59113. The team has plans to run an information session in the local area to share a presentation on the project. We will update this website when we hear more.
