Bin collections over Christmas 13 Dec 2024 Collection days will change during the festive period

Eynsham Parish Council would like to remind residents that the bin collection days will be slightly different during the holidays period. We’d advise you to check the dates to ensure you don’t miss getting your bin emptied after Christmas.

The changes to bin collection days are to allow our waste operatives to have some time off over the Christmas period. Changes will be in force from Wednesday 25 December until Monday 13 January.

If Wednesday 25 December would have been your ‘usual’ bin collection day, it will be emptied on Friday 27 December instead. In the following week, bin collection days will be two days later than usual: if your bin is usually collected on a Wednesday, instead of 1 January it will be emptied on Friday 3 January.

The changes will happen once again during the week commencing Monday 6 January, with a single day delay. If your bin is usually collected on a Wednesday, instead of 8 January it will be emptied on Thursday 9 January.

Garden waste bin collection will be suspended completely from Monday 23 December, resuming on Tuesday 7 January on your usual day. Real Christmas trees will be collected on the usual garden waste collection day from this date until 20 January and the service is available to all, even those without a garden waste bin. Ensure you have removed all decorations from the tree; larger trees need to be reduced into 1m pieces to help the crews dispose of them.
