Tune in to WRFM! 3 Jul 2024 Listen out for Eynsham on this local community radio station

Eynsham Parish Council is teaming up with local community radio station, WRFM (previously Witney Radio), to help give Eynsham and our various community activities some airtime across the channel.

Residents may already be aware of – and listen to – the volunteer-run WRFM. The station is rapidly expanding its reach across the county via new transmitters and is seeking more content from local communities.

There are already some local Eynsham people popping up as presenters on the station, but soon there will be some recorded segments from Eynsham Parish Council and other local organisations and groups on the air, too.

On Friday 5 July at 10am, WRFM (105.3 FM in Eynsham) will broadcast a recording we made a few days ago; a chat between our Chair Ross Macken with Steve Parrinder, Chair of the Trustees of Eynsham Museum and Heritage Centre (EMHC).

The pair spoke about the history of the Bartholomew Room, which is Parish Council property but has been leased to EMHC for use as a museum. Steve also talked about the upcoming museum exhibition, Rural Eynsham, which will open on 15 July (more details available on the EMHC website).

If you’re not able to tune in on Friday morning to hear it, the segment will subsequently be available on the WRFM website (WRFM Local Radio for Oxfordshire and the Cotswold).

This is the first of various segments we have planned with WRFM to help fly the flag for Eynsham on the community station, so keep an ear out! If residents have any ideas or suggestions for content that would promote our community, please email epc.comms@eynsham-pc.gov.uk.
