At the end of 2022, Eynsham Parish Council was delighted to receive a Foundation Award from the National Association of Local Councils (NALC).
This award recognises that a council has achieved good practice in governance, community engagement and self-improvement. It also celebrates the fact that we go above and beyond our legal obligations, leading the community and continuously seeking opportunities to improve and develop ourselves as a Council, to better serve our parish.
It requires a team effort to achieve these standards and it’s something we should be proud of. Only two other councils in Oxfordshire have such an award, which demonstrates the challenge it can be to achieve it.
The ‘team’ that helps us maintain these high standards is not limited to our hard-working Councillors. We also have one full-time staff member – Katherine, our Clerk – as well as four part-time staff. This group is made up of Richard, our Deputy Clerk, Rachel, the Responsible Financial Officer, Sarah who handles our communications as Communications Officer and Dan – the newest recruit – taking on the role of Maintenance Operative.
The staff, in their various capacities, support and help to realise the ideas and ambitions of our Councillors, and together we work towards making life in Eynsham the best it can be for today, while also preserving and protecting what we love most for the years to come.
While a Parish Council can’t influence or achieve everything the community might want, we strive to do our best and feel proud to be serving such a vibrant, engaged and beautiful parish. This can only be achieved when we work closely with you, or residents, so please remember that you can get in touch with us at any time. Contact details are available on this website and we always like to hear from you.
