The Parish Council has been advised by the County Council that parents of children aged 3 and 4 must start applying now for their child’s place at primary school.
If your child was born between 1 September 2018 and 31 August 2019, you need to apply before 15 January to ensure they have a place at primary school to start in September 2023. You must still apply even if your child currently attends a nursey that is attached to a primary or infant school.
Before lodging an application, parents are encouraged to consider their options and visit the schools they are interested in their child attending. Eynsham Community Primary School has open days for parents and their children – keep an eye on their website for dates. It’s also important to review transport links and check that getting them to and from school is going to be possible during their time there.
There is more advice on what to consider and how to prepare the application on the County Council’s designated webpage. The Schools Admissions Team can also be contacted for advice by phone on 0345 241 2487 or via admissions.schools@oxfordshire.gov.uk.
Applications are made on the website and need to be completed before 15 January 2023. For those without internet access at home, local libraries or children’s centres provide free access and, often, assistance with using the computers.
