Response hub support to continue 18 Jul 2022 The District Council will continue the service set up to support residents during the pandemic until 2023

At the beginning of the Covid pandemic, West Oxfordshire District Council established the response hub to support to residents in a variety of ways. This included providing access to food, contacting those self-isolating, or linking residents up to domestic abuse support services.

In April 2021 the District Council funded a new role, Resident Support Worker, to help expand the services the response hub was able to provide. Since then, the hub has dealt with over 200 calls for assistance, lodged 136 food bank referrals and made over 1000 calls to residents self-isolating during the pandemic.

With the service having been so well used, the District Council has confirmed that the response hub will remain in place until at least April 2023, when funding will be reviewed.  As we enter a cost of living crisis and a period of uncertainty, this service will provide valuable support for local people. We encourage you to contact the response hub if you, or someone you know, are in need.

Email the response hub on community.support@westoxon.gov.uk or call 01993 861077. Read more about the service on the District Council website.
