EPIC News

EPIC March along A40 to Toll Bridge 5 Apr 2018 WODC have not listened to the people of Eynsham about their Local Plan. So EPIC has organised a protest march. Please, join us!

It doesn't take much imagination to predict the impact of 3,200 new houses. at Eynsham, on the A40.  GRIDLOCK. However, WODC in their Local Plan appear not to be able to.  Despite 100s of consultation responses from Eynsham residents, WODC persists with their deeply flawed Plan.

So EPIC has organised a demonstration for the people of Eynsham to shout loudly about what is wrong with the Plan,

We Eynsham residents are not NIMBYs. In our own Neighbourhood Plan, we have agreed to 750 new homes that local people can afford.  We know that building on a scale of 3,200 homes and new roads will encircle our village, destroy our community spirit, pollute our air and turn us into a badly planned town.

So come and shout with us at 10.00am on Saturday, April 21st.  We will gather on the green at the top of Witney Road near the A40 traffic lights.  There you can pick up banners and leaflets for the march.  If you would like to make your own banner or put a poster in your window to advertise the demonstration, there are attachments below. Even better if you want to make your own!

We will march along the A40 cycle path to the roundabout, then down Hanborough Rd and Mill St to the village centre.  From there we will go down the High Street to the Toll Bridge and end up in the Square.  If you can't join the whole march, please come for as much as you can.  Hopefully you will be able to hear where we are! So bring whistles, drums, saucepans - whatever!

DON'T FORGET TO SIGN OUR PETITION! WE NEED MORE SIGNATURES BEFORE HANDING IT TO WODC ON MONDAY, APRIL 9TH. https://www.change.org/p/the-planning-inspector-housing-for-local-needs-that-people-can-afford-that-doesn-t-ruin-the-countryside
