How long have you worked for Eynsham Parish Council?
I’ve worked for Eynsham Parish Council since April 2023, but have worked in local government for over 15 years.
Why did you apply for the job and what do you enjoy about it?
I love working in the parish council sector and enjoy being able to use my knowledge of financial processes to help the community.
What can be the most challenging aspect of your work?
It can be a challenge to keep in touch with the rest of the team as I tend to work unusual hours to fit around my other commitments!
How long have you lived locally and what do you like about the area?
I’ve lived in the area for over 15 years and I love that Oxfordshire is so well located for accessing lots of other areas. I also love having such lovely countryside right on the doorstep.
Do you attend any of the local Eynsham events and activities?
I haven’t been to any of the events yet, but I would love to come along to the Carnival – it looks like great fun!
What do you do outside work to relax?
I enjoy baking, spending time with my family as well as a bit of amateur dramatics (it’s behind you!)
What do you think makes Eynsham a special place?
Eynsham has a great community spirit and there seems to be a lot going on. My children love the skate park too!
Have you discovered anything new about the Parish Council that you perhaps didn’t know before?
I discovered that the Parish Council is very friendly and welcoming, with Councillors and staff who really want to do the best for their community. It’s a great team to work with. It would be wonderful if we could attract some new faces to fill the current vacancies for Councillors – can we tempt you?
What previous roles have you had?
I have previously worked as a town and parish clerk, and before that I worked in Adoption Services for ten years.
What were your earliest ambitions as a child?
I always wanted to be a tap-dancing doctor, although probably not doing both at the same time!
