Eynsham Parish Council News

U3a coming to Eynsham 6 Dec 2022 Are you interested in getting involved with The University of the Third Age?

Are you retired or semi-retired and seeking something stimulating, educational and enjoyable to get involved with? The University of the Third Age is coming to Eynsham and could be an ideal organisation to join.

This national and international movement, known as U3A, is designed to provide learning and discovery opportunities in a social environment for all those entering their ‘third age’. Members don’t need to be fully retired, but they must be no longer in full-time employment – you could, for example, still be working part time.

U3A Eynsham would likely take the form of weekly meetings and talks, with topics and activities driven by and for the members themselves. Experts in their field may give talks, or skilled craftspeople could run workshops, while there would be opportunities for excursions or outings of mutual interest.

The approach to sharing knowledge in a friendly environment has proved popular worldwide and there are over 1,000 groups in the UK alone. An Eynsham branch would offer our some of our local people an interesting, engaging pursuit and the chance to continue learning and discovering new skills into their later life.

If you’d like to find out more or express an interest in being involved, please contact Pam on 07758947177. More information about the U3A can be found on their website u3a.org.uk.
