Polar to the rescue! 21 Oct 2016 The Polar Technology Management Group helps Eynsham Community Primary School.

Today many schools are dealing with increasing pupil numbers and ever tighter financial budgets.  Parent Teacher Associations (PTA) everywhere work to raise money for those little extras that school budgets cannot always run to.  Therefore the hardworking team at Eynsham Community Primary School sometimes has to turn to its own PTA.

Built in 1985, after the tragic drowning of a pupil in the river, the school swimming pools age is rapidly catching up with it.  With onsite pools being a luxury for schools the PTA at Eynsham has been funding much of the running, upkeep and maintenance.  Earlier in the summer however the PTA found itself looking outside its normal but varied methods of fundraising.  The boiler breaking down caused the pupils to be swimming in cold water and there were little funds to replace the boiler as fixing it was not an option.

A chance meeting bought a member of the PTA into contact with Scott Roberts the Co-Chairman and Co-Founder of Polar Technology Management Group, an Eynsham based advanced engineering company.  "Scott was so friendly and approachable" said Lizzie Hingley of the PTA, "his sense of community and willingness to help was amazing".  The PTA were overwhelmed when Polar Technology Management Group offered them £1,000 to help with the boiler crisis.  Thanks to The Polar Technology Management Group a new boiler was put on order immediately.

"We could not have continued swimming this year without The Polar Technology Management Group" said Lizzie.

As well as the donation Scott Roberts has stayed in contact with the PTA offering help and support with further external fundraising.  If you think that either yourself or your company may be able to help, please get in contact with Lizzie Hingley by email, liz.seeney@ntlworld.com.
