West Oxfordshire District Council has shared the findings of an independent study that demonstrates the benefits that establishing a train line between Carterton and Oxford could have for the local community.
This train would run via Witney and Eynsham, offering our community an additional, sustainable transport option and help reduce reliance on cars. The train line would also help ease congestion on the A40 and help support the District Council’s ambitions around net zero for the area.
The study was commissioned by the District Council as part of seeking evidence to support the new Local Plan 2041, which is currently being developed. The train line is likely to be part of the Local Plan, with the District Council looking to safeguard land for potential future development of the Carterton-Witney-Oxford route.
