Residents may be aware that the footpath through Dovehouse woodland had been blocked off and inaccessible for some time.
While the outer strip of the land behind Dovehouse Close belongs to Oxfordshire County Council, the inner strip – which includes the path – is the responsibility of Eynsham Parish Council.
A group of Councillors – Chair Ross Macken with Cllrs Sue Osborne and Andy Mosson – recently spent some time clearing the debris that was blocking the path to allow residents to use it again.
The group removed all the rubbish that was blocking the path and opened up the fence to allow access without having to climb over it, as residents were previously required to do.
The clearing work has made it possible for those wishing to access the bus stop on Hanborough Road to do so without having to walk along the grass verge on the edge of the B4449.
We understand that the path had been blocked by concerned residents due to the antisocial behaviour that was happening in the woodland. We would advise reporting these incidents to Thames Valley Police. This can be done via their website: Report antisocial behaviour | Thames Valley Police
Well done to Ross, Sue and Andy on their efforts! You can see the 'before' and 'after' photos from their work below.
