Need emergency financial support? 24 Mar 2025 A County Council hardship fund can support those in immediate need

Oxfordshire County Council has launched a new hardship fund to support residents across the county who find themselves in immediate financial need. We’d encourage residents who experience unexpected, urgent costs to apply for the support they need.

The Oxfordshire Residents Support Scheme helps with short-term, basic living costs such as food and credit for pre-payment energy meters, as well as white goods, furniture or clothing. It is intended to provide one-off, urgent support when residents are in immediate financial need, not as an ongoing grant or fund.

The scheme is open to all over the age of 16, with priority given to those in vulnerable groups, such as older people, families with young children, people with long term illness or disabilities, and those experiencing or at risk of domestic abuse.

Applications will be reviewed rapidly when received and, even if funding cannot be offered, the Council will be able to suggest other services or charities that may be able to help. More details on how to apply, what is funded and how the process works are all available on the County Council website: Oxfordshire Residents Support Scheme | Oxfordshire County Council

Applications can be made on the County Council website, or via telephone on 01865 804171 (Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm exc. bank holidays). If residents have any issues when applying online or have a query about a new or existing application, they should email RSSOxfordshire@necsws.com or call 01865 804171.
