Low Carbon Hub events 21 Feb 2025 Some local events to help you make your home energy-efficient

As part of their Community Action Plan for Zero-Carbon Energy (CAPZero – read more here), the Low Carbon Hub will be running some free events to help Eynsham residents make their homes warmer and reduce bills.

Firstly, on Wednesday 26 February from 7pm-9pm at Eynsham Village Hall there will be a free thermal imaging training workshop. This will be run by Oxfordshire County Council’s Retrofit Team Lead Dale Hoyland.

Thermal imaging cameras help us understand how houses lose heat and direct energy-efficiency improvements. Dale will demonstrate how the camera works and explain how to establish a thermal imaging campaign in the community. He will also be able to provide advice on funding and resources that can support those wishing to make changes.

Hot drinks and light refreshments will be available from 6.45pm.

The second event is the Big Home Energy Day on Saturday 22 March from 2-5pm at Eynsham Village Hall. The session will feature talks on key topics and stalls displaying information and advice on how to make changes at home to save energy and reduce bills.

There will also be a chance to speak to energy advisors about low carbon tech such as heat pumps and solar panels and try out a thermal imaging camera.

It should be fun, too! There will be refreshments, prizes to be won, and a face-painter on hand to keep the younger attendees (and the young at heart) distracted! Attendance is free. More information available on this webpage: Big Home Energy Day - Low Carbon Hub
