West Oxfordshire District Council is holding a meeting in February to consider their response to the Botley West Solar Farm plans. Members of the public are welcome to attend or watch online.
As the Botley West Solar Farm development is a Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project (NSIP), it will bypass the local planning process and ultimately be approved or not by the Secretary of State after the Planning Inspectorate has reviewed the project.
However, the District Council has an opportunity to submit a response to the plans. This will be discussed by the Development Control Committee on 24 February at 2pm in the Council chambers at the Woodgreen office. The response will aim to draw attention to the potential impact of the development on the landscape, the environment and the local communities.
Members of the public with an interest in this project are welcome to attend the meeting or can watch it online via this website: Home - West Oxfordshire District Council streaming There is also an opportunity to address the committee during the meeting, although this must be arranged with the District Council in advance. More information is available here: West Oxfordshire District Council - Agenda for Development Control Committee on Monday, 24th February, 2025, 2.00 pm
Interested parties are able to submit their own feedback on the proposals directly to the Planning Inspectorate before midnight on 27 February. In due course the District Council is also expecting to be required to submit a Local Impact Report. All these materials will ultimately inform the decision on the Botley West Solar Farm.
